The Board of Trustees meets once each year to decide on grants.
To be considered, an organization must submit a one-page request, in writing, either by mail or e-mail, which must be received by November 1.
Funds, if awarded, are disbursed in the beginning of the following calendar year. At the end of the year, each organization is asked to submit a brief report, outlining how they spent the funds as well as the resulting impact.
The Gesso Foundation awards grants only to non-profit organizations that have been granted 501(c) 3 status by the Internal Revenue Service.
NOTE: The Gesso Foundation does not give funds to individual artists, or projects by individual artists, or to documentary or fiction films.
